The year of 2019 is more than symbolic to China, Macao. The 70th anniversary of people's republic of China and the 20th anniversary of Macao's return, it is indeed a year of celebrations. To honor this very special year through the 5th edition of our Baroque Music Festival, Alliance Française de Macao presents you a very special program themed as "connection".

Combining Vivaldi and Piazzolla together, underlines the cultural differences between Mediterranean Europe and the heart of South America. Baroque Music that grooves, tangos flushed with 18th century's flair, Maestro Lio Kuokman joints Baroque Music with Tango through the stage of the opening concert of the Macao Baroque Music Festival.

Four exceptional musicians from Macao Orchestra, trace the connection between Portugal and France in the Renaissance and early Baroque period, through works from Pedro Do Porto, Manuel Correia do Campo, François Couperin, etc.

Organ Recital: Vincent Thévenaz

The organ concerts have been a very popular series of our Festival. In this year edition, we have invited the organist of St. Pierre Cathedral in Geneva, Mr. Vincent Thévenaz, to sound the organ of St.Joseph Seminary 聖若瑟修院. Two evenings, with two unique programs, each features a variety of works by composers from around the world.
